Simple Tuner App User Guide
1. A4 Calibration
Adjust the reference frequency for A4. The adjustable range is 380Hz to 450Hz.
2. Audio Input Mode
Switch Mode: Triple-tap the button to toggle between "Built-in Mic" and "Bluetooth Mic".
Mic On/Off: Long-press for 1 second to mute the mic. Long-press again for 1 second to unmute.
Note: Bluetooth external microphones with "in-ear detection" or "fixed directional" features may cause audio input errors.
3. Tuning Needle Meter
Displays your current tuning accuracy. Tap the meter screen 5 times to jump directly to the "Spectrum Analyzer (10.)". Tap it 5 times again to return to the Tuning Needle Meter.
4. Note & Frequency Display
Displays the detected note and its exact frequency in real time.
5. Accidentals Display
Tap to toggle between sharps (#) and flats (b) for gemstone notation.
6. Noise Floor Indicator
Shows current ambient noise levels. The text color indicates the tuning status:
Green: The app is actively analyzing the instrument's pitch.
Orange: Instrument volume is below the detection threshold. Please play louder or go to "Advanced Settings (7.)" to lower the "Volume Threshold (13.)".
Triple-tap the noise floor text to re-detect the current ambient noise.
7. Advanced Settings
Tap to access advanced parameter adjustments.
8. Instrument Tuning Mode
Locks onto your specific instrument's frequency range and minimizes background noise for more accurate tuning.
9. Settings Page
Tap to open the app's main settings menu.
10. Spectrum Analyzer
Provides a visual, real-time graph of the input signal's frequency spectrum.
11. Spectrum View Mode
Tap to switch between display modes:
Absolute Mode: Shows the fixed volume intensity range from -80dB to 0dB.
Relative Mode: Shows the full spectrum trend, normalizing the peak signal to 1.0 (0dB).
12. Pitch Accuracy Tolerance
Adjustable under "Advanced Settings (7.)". The default is 90% for higher detection accuracy. If your instrument is too quiet or the environment is noisy, lower this to around 75% to increase detection sensitivity; note that lowering this value may reduce overall tuning accuracy. Additionally, by dragging the slider to the far left and triple-tapping the green text, you can manually change the value (0-99).
13. Volume Threshold
The app only detects pitch when your instrument volume exceeds this threshold (use the "Noise Floor Indicator (6.)" color to check status).
Default is 1X (equal to ambient noise), 2X is twice the noise, and so on.
If there is constant, fixed-frequency background noise, raise this to 1.5X or higher to prevent false readings.
By dragging the slider to the far left and triple-tapping the green text, you can manually change the value (0.0000-0.9999).
14. Noise Filter
Filters out brief, fixed-frequency ambient noises to prevent the tuning needle from jittering.
Default is 100ms: Automatically ignores noises lasting under 0.1 seconds.
Note: This hides the noise from the display rather than removing it. Your instrument must still be louder than the background noise to tune successfully.
15. Reference Tone Mode
When "Instrument Tuning Mode (8.)" is active, tone buttons will appear at the bottom of the screen:
Single Play: Tap a note to play its pitch. It stops automatically after 3 seconds (tap again while playing to stop instantly).
Loop Play: Long-press for 1 second to loop the tone indefinitely. Tap the button again to stop.
16. Reference Tone Volume
Drag the slider to adjust the tone volume. The default is set to -30dB to protect your hearing from sudden loud sounds.
17. Language Settings
Currently supports Traditional Chinese and English. More languages will be added in future updates.
